Meteora

On the way to Kastoria, we also passed by the mountain monasteries of Meteora. Even though it's one of the top tourist destinations, it was the first time I went there. And not surprisingly, it's another photographer's paradise!

More from the lakes of Prespa ...

During our visit of the lakes of Prespa we also did a boat tour on the big lake. During this brief tour, we enjoyed some unique views, saw a lot of birds, and visited a remote chapel in a huge cave. So if you ever go there: do one of the tours offered by some locals, it's more than worth it!

The lakes of Prespa

On our trip to northern Greece we also visited the lakes of Prespa, the larger one being shared between Greece, Albania and Macedonia. When we arrived the lakes were covered with fog which disappeared later during the day. Needless to say this made for some good opportunities for photographs ;)

Happy new year!

During the first days of the new year, we visited the north of Greece, namely the city of Kastoriá where Ioanna grew up. The trip was great (we also visited Meteora and the lakes of Prespa) and was a truly unique Greece-experience. Instead of islands, sun, and beaches we enjoyed frozen lakes, snow capped mountains and open fireplaces!
